Homemade Gourmet Gifts? You're Not Cheap, You're "Creative!"

Friday December 21, 2007
Lemon PhotoIf your funds are a little low this holiday season don't despair. You can make a batch of delicious, old fashion lemon curd and not only save money at the mall, but you'll finally give a gift that doesn't get returned or re-gifted. In case you've never heard of lemon curd, it's an old British recipe that came to America with the early English settlers. It's an intensely favored lemon dessert sauce that's kind of like the best lemon pie filling you ever tasted, times ten!

This lemon curd video recipe will show you how easy it is to make, and since it goes perfectly with tarts, pies, cakes, and gingerbread, it's a great gift for this time of the year. Just put it in a Mason jar, tie it up with a pretty holiday ribbon, and you're good to go.
