Almost Effortless No-Knead Pizza Dough

Friday January 2, 2009
Pizza Dough My deep love for the no-knead bread method has now been extended to pizza dough. I usually adhere to the "if it's not broken, don't fix it" rule. Well, when it comes to my pizza dough I'm glad I ignored that chestnut. My pizza dough recipe wasn't broken, but I fixed it anyway, and I'm so glad I did. As I suspected, the magic that is no-knead bread adapted beautifully.

My basic no-knead recipe was tweaked a bit, and after one day and almost no effort, I had enough soft, sticky, supple pizza dough for two regular, or four small pizzas. It makes a crispy, chewy crust that would have even the most cynical New Yorker smiling. Give this effortless no-knead pizza dough recipe a try!

John,
Try these no-knead English muffins some time. They’re the best English muffins I’ve ever made.

AP or bread flour, self-rising is only for quick dough and isn’t used in yeast doughs.
