Sweet Potato Steak Fries

Did you know that these orange-fleshed "yams" are really just a variety of sweet potato? Any variety of sweet potato or "yam" will work nicely in this sweet potato steak fries recipe.

So simple and delicious, these sweet potato fries are a great way to enjoy one of nature's most nutritious foods. Since these are done in a hot oven, they don't need lots of oil to "fry." These sweet potato fries are great with burgers, steaks and almost anything else you would serve with regular fries.

I like mine spicy, so I put in a good shake of cayenne, but you can easily tailor this recipe to your own level of heat. As with regular French fries, salt is important to bring out the flavors, but you can always adjust that after they're cooked.

cut them small!, Member dollenclan

I have tried over and over to make yummy sweet potato fries from scratch. This recipe is so easy and I have finally found the secret is to cut your fries SMALL! I also used cajun seasoning for a little bit of spice. I used aluminum foil liner but I maybe should have used a coat of cooking spray to decrease the stick. Will definitely be making these again. I hate cutting sweet potatoes but this is so much healthier than the store-bought version
