Buffalo chicken wings are the great American appetizer, but this delicious version uses some classic Asian flavors for a tasty twist. This buffalo chicken wing recipe is perfect for any party platter.

Makes 4 Serving of Orange and Ginger-Glazed Buffalo Chicken Wings

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup finely minced or grated fresh ginger
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, cut into 2 pieces each (*flat and drum)
  • 2 green onions, green part only, thinly sliced

Preparation:

In a large plastic freezer bag, combine orange juice, lemon, hoisin sauce, oil, sugar, ginger, garlic, and hot sauce. Seal bag and shake to mix. Add the chicken wings, and refrigerate to marinade for 12 - 24 hours.

Spread the wings evenly on a foil-lined baking sheet. Drizzle over about half of the marinade, and bake in a preheated 400 degrees F. oven for 45 minutes, until browned. Serve with sliced green onions scattered on top.

* One whole wing, cut in half at the joint, will make 2 pieces, known in Buffalo chicken wing lingo as the "flat" and the "drum."
