Texas Barbecue Dry Rub Recipe

This dry rub recipe is very typical of Texas-style barbecue. Texas barbecue rubs are usually spicy, and known for various ground chilies, and cumin.

Makes 1 1/2 Cups Texas Barbecue Dry Rub Recipe
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chili powder
  • 2 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp ground chipotle pepper
Preparation:
Mix together all the ingredients thoroughly. Best if used right away, but if stored, be sure to use a container with an airtight lid.
