Shake and Serve Red Wine Vinaigrette

This red wine vinaigrette salad dressing recipe uses the easiest method ever invented for getting perfectly emulsified vinaigrette! The secret is a touch of Dijon that, when shaken, keeps the oil and vinegar mixed together. That's the signature of any great salad dressing.

Makes 2 cups of Red Wine Vinaigrette

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 clove crushed garlic (optional)

Preparation:

Combine all ingredients in a glass jar with a screw-on lid. Tighten lid and shake vigorously for 1 minute before serving.

We all enjoyed this vinaigrette. Our family has really gotten into red wine vinegar and wanted to try some new vinaigrettes. This one was easy, flavourful and didn't over power the vegetables. What more could you want? We had it with a simple green salad with romaine, cucumber, peppers, celery and tomato. Yummm!
