Blue Cheese and Green Bean Casserole Recipe

This rich and decadent blue cheese and green bean casserole recipe is for those special occasion meals when you aren’t going to be counting the calories. This green bean casserole makes a wonderful side dish for a grilled steak, and is also great for those holiday dinners.

Makes 8 Servings Blue Cheese and Green Bean Casserole

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 3 ounces blue cheese
  • 1 pint cream
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp cup melted butter

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Blanch the beans in salted boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain well, and transfer into a lightly buttered casserole dish. Pour over the cream, and crumble the blue cheese evenly on the top. Mix the breadcrumb with the melted butter in a small bowl and sprinkle evenly over the top. Bake for 15 minutes, or until browned and bubbling. Remove and let rest for 15 minutes before serving for best results.
