Baked Barbecue Beans Recipe

This simple barbecue beans recipe makes a classic side dish for any of your grilled meats. The real secret of these delicious barbecue beans is the chopped barbecued pork, which gives the recipe its deep, rich flavor.

Makes 6 Portions of Baked Barbecue Beans

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 diced red bell pepper
  • 3 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup prepared barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped barbecued pork meat, optional

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Saute the onions and bell pepper in butter over medium heat until the onions are golden. Add to a mixing bowl along with the rest of the ingredients and toss to combine. Transfer to a lightly greased 2-quart baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
