This cheesy broccoli casserole recipe, also known as broccoli gratin, features two ingredients that were just meant for each other; savory cheddar cheese sauce and green, nutritious broccoli. This is a great side dish recipe for any meal, but works particularly well for large gatherings since the broccoli stays hot in the casserole dish for a good while.

Makes 8 Portions Cheesy Broccoli Casserole Recipe

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli florettes, thawed
  • 3 cups cheddar cheese sauce (one sauce recipe, linked below)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation:

Place the broccoli and cheese sauce in a mixing bowl, and fold with a spatula until all the broccoli is coated with the sauce. You can find a great cheddar cheese sauce recipe here.

Scrap into a buttered casserole dish, and press in. In a small bowl combine the breadcrumbs, butter, and Parmesan. Sprinkle evenly over the top and bake at 375 degrees F. for 25 minutes, or until the top is browned and bubbly.
